Late September 2005, Silsbee residents were dealt a
devastating blow from Hurricane Rita. Although,
Entergy was already dealing with Katrina related issues in
New Orleans, Entergy - Texas worked diligently to
electricity to 17,000 customers in Hardin County by the end
of three weeks. "This is a great honor for
us," commented Joe Domino, Entergy Texas
president and chief executive officer. "Certainly
we didn't go into restoration efforts with the idea in mind
to be recognized or rewarded in any way. We were
simply working very hard to do the best job we could so our
customers could get their lives back
together."
Entergy will be formally recognized at the Silsbee
Chamber of Commerce annual meeting and banquet Thursday,
March 9, 2006, 7pm at the Silsbee High School
