The Younger Years Daycare provides a learning environment for children six weeks old through 5th grade. The daycare provides school drop off and pick up for students and has a summer program. Silsbee Independent School District
Silsbee I.S.D. is a Texas 3-A school district that emphasizes a
well-rounded education for the whole child. The District's mission is to
empower students for the challenge of the real world. In addition to an
excellent education, Silsbee students are encouraged to participate in
UIL arts, athletic, and academic competitions.

Silsbee High School offers a well-rounded academic program for students
including Advanced Placement courses in Language Arts, Math, Science,
Social Studies, and Music. In addition, the high school has a Distance
Learning Lab where students earn duel credit for high school and college
at Lamar University, as well as the Career and Technology Education that
participates in Tech Prep with all two year Texas junior colleges and
prepares students to move forward on earning a degree leading to a
career in Health Occupations, Child Care, Auto Technician, Agricultural
Sciences, Computer Technology and Business. Students may learn
technology at Silsbee High through Cisco Systems, Architectural or
Engineering Graphics, Multimedia or Microsoft Office Suite Programs.
Silsbee High School has the only high school program in Southeast Texas
with NATEF Certification and the Automotive Youth Excellence
Items of interest for students...an opportunity to participate in fine
arts programs, athletics, academic teams, and extracurricular
activities. Students can choose from 4 fine arts programs, 14 athletic
teams, 15 UIL academic teams, 8 community awareness activities, and 33
Edwards-Johnson Memorial Silsbee Middle School is aligned to the high
school and serves as a bridge between elementary school and high
school-the bridge between childhood and young adulthood. By aligning the
middle school with high school, students in grades 6 through 8 are
better prepared for their high school experience. These students are
served in an educational program designed to capture interest, develop
learning skills, improve academic achievement and enhance the
self-concept. In addition to the basic courses offered-elective courses
in computer literacy, band, choir and art are available. Students have a
variety of ways to explore their academic and leadership skills
including inclusive participation in all sports and extra-curricular
activities-8 different athletic teams, 14 academic competition teams, 8
community awareness activities, as well as clubs.
Laura Reeves Elementary houses fourth and fifth grade students an
prepares them for transition to the middle school through a challenging
curriculum and opportunities to participate on the University of
Interscholastic League (UIL) academic teams.
The Mission of the Read-Turrentine Elementary School staff is to empower
second and third grade students to become productive, successful,
life-long learners capable of meeting the challenges of a global society
by providing a competent, cooperative staff committed to teaching a
balanced, enriched curriculum in a warm, nurturing and safe environment.
Kirby Elementary shares the district's goal of providing a learning
environment to teach the 3 R's or the basics of reading, writing, and
arithmetic. In addition to the basics, Kirby also strives to instill a
zest for learning and stimulating upper-level thinking skills. The
students are engaged in challenging curriculum and provided
opportunities to show case their unique talents.
The Silsbee Independent School District works closely with the
Performing and Visual Arts Council (PVAC) to provide arts education to every
student in the district. This unique non-profit organization ensures a
music, literary, theatre, and visual arts program reaches every student

Silsbee ISD, Lamar University, and Lamar Institute of Technology enjoy a collaborative partnership. Silsbee ISD has donated a building to Lamar Unstitude of Technology to create a satellite campus in Silsbee. Check back for details on programs offered as the campus evoloves.
